Calling All Kontagious Alumni!
Help fund the Kontagious Alumni Wellcome Project Fund! We need to raise $10,000!
Do you remember your first days at SJSU and perhaps how Kontagious and our various C2K (College 2 Kareer) events helped make Silicon Valley home? Our programs continue to develop and encourage many of the new graduate students from India here in the Bay Area. Spring semester is just around the corner and that means Kontagious is organizing the Airport Pickups, Welcome Gifts of Food Basics and the Welcome to America Dinner.
In fact the Welcome to America Activities begin in mid August and run through September of 2022. During this short 6 week window, we expect to pick up over 350 students from SFO,
and provide welcome gifts and welcome to America dinners to cover close to 400 new SJSU Graduate Students.
Our costs for all of these activities are rising due to fuel purchases, U-haul rentals, food supplies and those 350+ dinners served at our multiple outdoor Welcome To America Gatherings. This year we are running the Welcome to America Gatherings with Covid Safe outdoor groups of 30 students and 15 mentors at each small gathering. We will run this event 8 - 12 times to cover all participants.
