Celebrating Arshiya Sethi via zoom.
June 8, 2020, we lost the one and only Arshiya Sethi, A beautiful young woman in her mid-twenties, who loved to fiddle with computers, travel and was mesmerized by Bhangra. She was kind, loving, caring and always stood up for others.
Arshiya was born on 4th March, 1993 in Punjab, India. Right from childhood, she was a bright student and always fascinated by technology, computers and gadgets. Arshiya came to the United States in August 2017, to pursue her lifelong dream of getting a Masters Degree in Software Engineering from San Jose State University. She was a fighter, Despite having to face the tragic news of her fathers death in July 2018, Arshiya fought on and not only did she complete her Masters program, but also landed herself an amazing job as a Software Engineer at Amazon, before succumbing to the same illness which took away her father. She was a great daughter, sister, and an amazing friend. She had so much more to give, to teach, to share to the world. She will always be remembered for her warmth and generosity, her commitment to humanity as a group and as individuals, her brilliance and unflagging optimism, and her great big heart. She set an example of courage and compassion that inspired everyone who knew her. God Speed, Arshiya – Heaven only knows what’s in store for you next!
